Baby Loss Awareness – Aching Arms Workplace Training – 15th October  2024

In the UK, sadly, 1 in 4 pregnancy end in loss, with around 3,000 babies stillborn each year and thousands more parents experiencing early and late miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy, termination for medical reasons and neonatal death.

The recently published Independent Pregnancy Loss Review states in Recommendation 68 that ‘All organisations should update their Human Resources (HR) policies and practices to adequately support staff who experience pre-24- week baby loss.

Therefore, Provide Community are collaborating with Aching Arms, a national pregnancy and baby loss charity, based in Essex, to create training opportunities that raise awareness of the impact of this type of loss and help you support bereaved employees after loss.

We know there are many employers and managers who are not sure what to do, how to help and more often than not, when support is not in place, employees underperform for an extended period or resign. All of which puts added pressure on the business. This is often a reactive rather than a proactive topic which is why we are teaming up with Aching Arms to give you the tools needed to feel equipped to support your colleagues in these difficult times.

We want to thank Leanne for such an informative session, which was very well received and are looking forward to our next training session on 15th October.  You can book your place on smoothbook today!

In support of Baby Loss Awareness Week, your workplace may want to purchase and/or promote the Baby Loss Awareness Week pin badges to support the charity BLAW pin badge | Aching Arms

Really good session, lots covered and learnt a lot.  I will carry this forwards to the team and address any changes in our policies

Great Session, thank you for providing this 🙂

A very sensitive subject which was delivered extremely well.  Very frank, informative session.

I will ensure as a MHFA that I can available for support and I will think carefully about the language that use to offer support

Really learnt a lot and we will be using what was discussed today in our policies.
