Did you know that small businesses can apply for vouchers of up to £5,000 to spend on government approved software. The scheme provides impartial advice on how technology can help your business.
The £5,000 vouchers can be used to cover up to 50% of the costs of buying pre-approved software, which could include digital accounting, Customer Relation Management or ecommerce software. Eligibility – small-medium businesses between 1-249 employees, who have been actively trading for over 12 months.
Understanding Finance and Debt Management – Wed 16th – Thur 17th Feb 2023 – 9.30am-4.30pm
This course helps Essex-based business owners understand all things finance – from accounting and entrepreneurial finance to managing debt. You’ll gain basic understanding of finance and accounting to drive the success of your business.
The course is free to attend for Essex Businesses, and will run over two full days at The Marconi Room, Chelmsford City Council Offices, Duke Street, Chelmsford CM1 1JE. A light buffet lunch plus tea/coffee will be provided.
Energy Bill Relief Scheme: help for businesses and other non-domestic customers
The Government has announced a new Energy Bills Discount Scheme (EBDS) from April 2023-April 2024 for eligible non-domestic consumers in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The scheme is open to everyone on a non-domestic contract, including: businesses, voluntary sector organisations, charities and public sector organisations such as schools, hospitals and care homes.
This will help businesses locked into contracts signed before recent substantial falls in the wholesale price, manage their costs and provide others with reassurance against the risk of prices rising again. Suppliers will automatically apply reductions to the bills of eligible non-domestic customers. Customers don’t need to apply for their discount. If you think your supplier is not applying the discount correctly, you should contact your supplier in the first instance.
Multiply – free numeracy training – £7.9m secured to support Essex residents
Open to all employers in Essex. Do your staff have gaps in their numeracy knowledge? Multiply is a government-funded programme to help adults improve their numeracy skills.
The courses will help to boost confidence to gain a maths qualification up to NVQ2 (GCSE at grade 4 to 9 or A* to C). This can not only help you gain higher qualifications, it can enable you take advantage of new job opportunities and progress in your career.
