We are thrilled to be working in partnership with Essex County Council, Essex ICB, ECL Essex Cares, Tendring DC and special thanks to Air Rescue UK to run our first workplace Autism and Health Roadshow.
Could You See the World Differently?
Come along and take part in the Autism Reality Experience (ARE) – a powerful and thought-provoking experience designed to give you an insight into some of the sensory and communication challenges autistic people may experience in everyday life.
This isn’t a lecture or traditional training. You’ll step inside an immersive environment and experience a simulated situation first-hand, helping you gain a different perspective on how the world can sometimes feel for an autistic person.
The experience is open to Essex employers and employees to help them understand more about the everyday challenges of autism.
It only takes a short time to experience, but what you learn could stay with you for much longer.
Come along. Step inside. Experience it. Understand differently. A few minutes inside could change the way you think for a lifetime.

ECL Workplace Adjustments sessions
ECL’s Learning Disability and Autism Awareness training presentation is designed to help organisations build more inclusive, understanding and supportive workplaces. The session provides practical insight into what learning disabilities and autism are, how they can affect individuals differently and the strengths that neurodivergent people bring to the workforce. Through real-life examples, interactive discussion and guidance, the training equips staff with the confidence to communicate effectively, make reasonable adjustments and challenge common misconceptions.
The essential 40 minute training will be running throughout the day, no need to book:
Morning: 10.30am, 11.30am & 12.30pm
Afternoon: 1.45pm, 2.45pm, 3.45pm & 4pm
30 min NHS Health Checks and Lifestyle Checks – no appointment necessary
The checks include:
- Height
- Weight
- BMI
- Blood pressure
- Alcohol, smoking, diet and physical activity status.
If eligible for an NHS Health Check we’ll also complete the non-fasting Cholesterol check – NHS health check eligibility
SiSU Maxi Digital Health Checks – no appointment necessary
What’s included: The 5 min, self serve health check includes:
– Height
– Weight
– BMI
– Blood pressure
– Body analysis
– Stress screening.
Follow on support is available for weight management, stop smoking support and high blood pressure.
The Maxi unit will be available in the Air Rescue UK Reception from Friday 16th- 30th October.
